Macca’s Projects

I enjoy figuring out how things work—and making them work the way I want.

This is where I share the projects, experiments and lessons from the workshop.

See what’s on the workbench

Small projects, properly thought through.

Some are practical solutions for around the house. Others start as an interesting problem and grow from there. The common thread is building, testing, improving and learning along the way.

Projects

Home automation

Making the house work better

Practical experiments with Home Assistant, connected devices and sensible automation—useful without being intrusive.

Workshop

Electronics and 3D printing

Designing small circuits, making enclosures and learning from the inevitable test prints along the way.

Notes will appear here as projects take shape.

Short updates about ideas, useful discoveries and the occasional problem solved by trying a different approach.

A place for the things I’m making.

I’m interested in electronics, 3D printing and home automation, especially where they solve an everyday problem neatly. I’m retired after 50 years in various arms of the electronics industry. This site is a record of the projects I’m working on and the ideas behind them.
